LGBTQ Muslims set to celebrate first Pride in London, after successful fundraising campaign

London Muslims are getting ready to celebrate their very own LGBTQ Pride celebration next spring, after raising over 10,000 pounds (around $12,900) in a fund-raising campaign. The event is being organized by Imaan, a network of LGBTQ Muslims across the U.K. Founded in November, 1999, Imaan is a community that empowers “thousands of others like ourselves to reconcile sexuality, gender identity with the Islamic faith through social support meetings, conferences, retreats, Pride and religious celebrations and spiritual practice,” a description on the organization’s fund-raising page reads.
