All roads will lead to Cape Town, South Africa for the 2019 edition of Mr Gay World pageant where 24 finalists will compete for this year’s crown. The last-minute hosting duties for South Africa comes after Hong Kong pulled out as host following a halt on events around the LGBT community by the Chinese government. The finale is expected to be held at the Cape Town City Hall on May 4, 2019. The contestants arrived in the country on April 28 and were warmly welcomed by the President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa who took to Twitter to wish the delegates well.
