Organizers of this year’s Montenegrin Pride, scheduled for Saturday, called on authorities to prevent attacks on the LGBT community in the country. The eleventh Montenegrin Pride will take place under the slogan, “Self-determination” [“Samoodređenje”], while the main event will be a walk in the capital, Podgorica, passing parliament, the government building and the city assembly. The organisers, the NGO Queer Montenegro, called on fellow citizens to show that violence against the LGBT community shouldn’t be tolerated in Montenegro. According to NGO LGBT Forum Progress’s data from September 12, civil activists reported 114 online threats to the LGBT community during this year to police.
