Anti-LGBTQ organization Gerakan Nasional Anti LGBT (Granati LGBT) will stage rallies at several locations in Jakarta from 12:00 Nov. 10. The purpose of the action is to demand assurances from organizers that there will be no LGBTQ content at the Nov. 15 concert of British rock band Coldplay. The activists plan to march from Al Azhar Mosque to the Arjuna Wijaya Horse Statue, with planned stops at the National Police Headquarters, the British Embassy, the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. The specific march route is unclear. Organizers are expecting a few thousand people to attend the protest. Granati LGBT has threatened to stage further demonstrations on Nov. 15 in Jakarta if their demands are not met. A heightened security presence is likely around the protest sites. Associated transport disruptions are likely along the march route. Isolated clashes may occur between police and activists, posing incidental risks to bystanders.
