A same-sex couple have opened up about the homophobic and misogynistic attack they suffered on a bus in north London. A picture of a bloody and crying couple went viral last week. The picture was of medical student Melania Geymonat and American-born Chris on a bus after being attacked by a group of young men. The men started harassing them and asked them to kiss while describing sexual positions. A fight broke out which left the two women covered in blood. Melania, 28, said to Channel 4 News: ‘First of all, it was an attack towards women and, then after, homosexual women.’ The couple were punched and robbed on the bus in the early hours of 30 May following an evening out in West Hampstead. Chris suffered a broken jaw while Melania had a broken nose. When the picture went viral, many described it as ‘shocking’. However, the couple disagree.
