California Congressman Mark Takano and former New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn were among the members of a delegation that traveled to Cuba last week. The Center for Democracy in the Americas — a D.C.-based organization that supports U.S. engagement with the Communist island — organized the trip that focused on LGBT issues and Cuba’s growing private sector. It began on Oct. 14 and ended on Tuesday. Josefina Vidal, who is Cuba’s general director of U.S. affairs, on Tuesday posted pictures to her Twitter account that show her meeting with Takano, Quinn and other members of the delegation at the country’s Foreign Ministry in Havana.
