Little Potato is an autobiographical short documentary by out filmmaker Wes Hurley, about a young boy growing up gay in the former Soviet Union. It is rare for LGBT stories to surface from this period in history. It displays unlikely acceptance and a rare glimpse into gay life outside the United States. This visually stunning film combines historical projections onto youthful bodies. Pairing those images with crisp and candid accounts of sexual self-discovery makes a compelling combination.
