The German federal asylum agency (BAMF) has been of accused of breaching the rights of those seeking asylum in their country, after asking intrusive questions to those seeking help after fleeing from anti-LGBT countries.
The paper Suddeutsche Zeitung reported of examples of such questions that were asked to a Pakistani asylum seeking in November 2016. Those questions included, “How often did you have sex with your boyfriend?” and “How did you find the intercourse?”. Volker Beck, a German gay rights activist and Green Party lawmaker, put together a dossier noting the ‘questionable’ actions taken by the asylum agency towards gay refugees.
