Caribbean Forum for Liberation and Acceptance of Genders and Sexualities (CariFLAGS) is a regional nonprofit based in Trinidad and Tobago with staff and leadership in St. Lucia, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, Belize, Grenada, Guyana and Suriname.
For 18 years, CariFLAGS has been a place for lgbti persons to create policy and cultural change on sexual and gender diversity. We work to build a region-wide lgbti movement by strengthening local leadership and organizations, developing shared strategies for social change, coordinating challenges on lgbti rights issues in the courts, addressing underserved needs and groups, and supporting safe environments at the community level.
Our goal is for Caribbean LGBTI people to enjoy safety and support, receive critical services, and build healthy and empowered communities.
CariFLAGS is an organizational partner of Chicago-based Heartland Alliance. Your donation to Heartland Alliance will allow CariFLAGS to continue its crucial work throughout the Caribbean.
