207 minors were arrested under the controversial Section 377 legislation. Almost 14% of those arrested in 2015 under India’s anti-gay law Section 377 were minors, according to new figures released by the National Crime Records Bureau. In 2013 same-sex relationships were re-criminalized in India under Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code. This 153-year-old colonial-era law, describes same-sex relationships as an “unnatural offence,” and anyone caught and convicted could spend up to 10 years in prison.
